Hello there!
I’m Nikki, a musician based in Manchester who specialises in Music education and performance. I graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2011 with a MA Hons. in Music (2:1). I have both Grade 8 Piano (ABRSM) and Grade 8 Vocals (RSL). I teach students from my premises in bolton town centre, my home in salford or online. I have a passion for music education and will support students on their musical journey to achieve their goals. I run a student concert once a year, and run a student band in the build up to the concert.
I regularly perform live music whether it’s in my band Really Rhubarb on keys & backing vocals or as the vocalist in Sphere Jazz Quartet. In late 2025 I formed sunshuffle duo with vocalist Emily Wood. I gig as a solo act performing on keys and vocals at weddings and events. My favourite genres of music are Jazz & Rock, I do enjoy classical piano repertoire and a good concerto too! I’m passionate about playing bass guitar.
I have previously worked as a Musical Director (Made in Dagenham, Evita, Rent). I also work in secondary schools, assisting with GCSE Music Performance preparation and delivering instrumental tuition in a range of instruments (Piano/Vocals/Guitar/Bass & Drums). In Summer 2023 I performed in the band for a high school production of little shop of horrors. I have previously private tutored the OCR GCSE Music course in partnership with an exam company, my student’s have achieved an 8 in 2023, and a 7 in 2024.
